She froze on the threshold.
Her daughter wasn’t sprawled on her bed. She and Noah were sitting on the floor, focused, surrounded by open notebooks, markers, and a large cardboard board covered with neatly arranged notes, photos, and sketches.
The two teenagers looked up in surprise.
— Mom! We weren’t supposed to show you this now.
