Make the Filling:
1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground turkey or beef until it is fully cooked.
2. Put onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and jalapenos in the skillet. Cook for around 5-7 minutes or until the vegetables get tenderized.
3. Season this mixture with salt, pepper, chili powder and cumin; mix everything well.
Assembling the Pocket Tacos:
4. Place a flour tortilla on a clean surface.
5. Take roughly one half of the tortilla and put meat along with vegetable filling on it. Keep some space empty around edges.
6. Now sprinkle shredded cheese over filling.
Folding & Sealing:
7. Fold
in half so that filling gets covered completely by it creating shape like half moon.
8. Press down firmly at edges thereby sealing that pocket together tightly; you can even use fork tines for crimping which adds extra security to seal.
Frying Pocket Tacos:
9. Heat oil for frying in large skillet or deep fryer over medium-high heat.
10.Carefully put assembled tacos into hot oil seam-side down few at once.
11.Fry both sides for approximately 2-3 minutes each until they turn golden brown color being crispy.
Serving & Enjoying:
12.Take out fried ones from oil letting them drain on paper towels which will remove any excess oil left behind during frying process.
13.Serve these while they’re still warm garnishing with favorite toppings like
sour cream guacamole chopped cilantro etc…
